I provide last-pass proofreading for indie fiction that’s ready to publish. My last-pass proofreading service is designed to catch the small errors that can occur even in the most carefully edited and proofread manuscripts.

I read publication-ready PDFs and look for problems such as:

• typos
• spelling mistakes
• missing words
• large gaps
• wobbly margins
• unexpected changes in font style
• “mismatched or missing speech marks’
• extra spaces before full stops (periods)

I appreciate that punctuation is often used creatively in fiction. I’ll assume that your comma, semi-colon, colon, and dash choices are deliberate. I’ll only flag something up if it obscures your intended meaning. I will check for punctuation format errors such as double commas,, mismatched (parentheses], and spaces in the wrong place !

I’m happy to cross-check PDFs against legible notes about late-stage alterations. I can check whether the changes have been made.

Please note that this service is for fiction that has gone through professional editing and proofreading. I won’t comment on problems in the storytelling, look for continuity errors, or apply style changes. However, I will give you three concrete examples of strengths in your storytelling.
